Radish Prawn Recipes (Mulor Ghonto)


It is a traditional Bengali recipe. It is prepared with radish and prawn is optional. This radish prawn recipe is very much tasty and every body will like it.

INGREDIENT

Radish grated 4 cups
Medium size prawn 100 gm
Coconut grated 1 cup
Tomato chopped ½ cup
Onion paste 3 tbsp
Ginger & garlic paste 2tbsp
Red chilli paste 1 tbsp
Cumin powder 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder ½ tbsp
Garam masala powder 1 tsp
Kasoori mathi (dried fenugreek leaves) 1 tsp
Salt to taste

INGREDIENT FOR TEMPERING

Desi ghee (clarified butter) 5 tbsp
Bay leaf 2
Fenugreek seeds ½ tsp
Few green chilies for garnishing

PROCESS

Wash the prawn, remove the black string of head
Marinate prawn with salt and turmeric powder and lightly fry, keep aside
Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pan and add coconut and lightly fry, keep aside
Heat ghee in a pan, add fenugreek seeds and bay leaves
Add onion and ginger, garlic paste, cook for few minutes. When ghee starts to separate, add red chilli paste
Add cumin powder, turmeric powder and garam masala powder, stir for few minutes
Add tomato and radish, add salt and cover the pan, cook until the radish becomes dry and brownish in colour
Add prawn and ½ cup water, cover the pan again and cook for few minutes
Add coconut and kasoori mathi
Garnish with green chilies and serve with hot rice
