It is a chicken dish, flavoured with fenugreek harbs. It has rich creamy taste.


Chicken 500 gm
Baby( small size) onion 6
Ginger paste 2 tbsp
Garlic paste 2 tbsp
Red chilli powder 2 tsp
Chopped tomato 2 cups
Finely cut fenugreek leaves ( methi) 2 cups
Bengal gram (choola dal) 1 cup
Butter 3 tbsp
Fresh cream 1 cup
Salt to taste


Soak fenugreek leaves and bengal gram in hot water for 4 hours
Make a fine paste of gram and fenugreek
Heat 1 tbsp butter and add ginger paste, garlic paste and red chilli powder
Stir well and cook for 2 minutes
Add chopped tomato and cook for 3 minutes or until the tomato totally mixed
Add gram and fenugreek paste, stir and dry the paste, keep aside
Heat 1 tbsp butter in another pan, add whole onion and sauté
Add chicken and salt keep the flame high and cook until chicken become brown in colour
Add gram and fenugreek paste, mix with chicken and cook for 4 minutes
Add 2 cups water and cover the pan
Cook for 10/ 15 minutes, when chicken become tender, add butter and cream
Serve with nan or parantha
