CHINESE TOFU WITH RICE WITH CHINESE 5 SPICES


INGREDIENT FOR 5 SPICES

Fennel seeds 1 tbsp
Cloves ½ tbsp
Cinnamon 1 tbsp
Star Anise 2
Black pepper 2 tbsp. ( grind together)

INGREDIENT FOR RICE

Basmati /Chinese rice 250 gm
Tofu ( soya paneer ) or milk paneer 100 gm
Cut in cubes
Onion sliced 1 cup
Garlic paste 1 tbsp
Chilli sauce 1 tbsp
Green portion of spring onion chopped ½ cup
Sugar ½ tsp
Oil ½ cup

PROCESS

Boil the rice and drain the boiling water
Mix salt with the rice and keep aside
Fry the tofu and keep aside
Heat oil in high flame, add garlic paste
Add 5 spices powder
Add onion and spring onion, cook for 5 minutes
Add tofu & rice, stir well
Add sugar and Chilli sauce
Toss well and serve hot
